Please ask any questions you may have about plants, in the comments of any post or by email. I love to help people to be better gardeners. If I don't know the answer, I have lots of great resources to find it and I love to learn new things, too!

First "Green" of the Season

I must be pretty desperate for growth! I just had to take a picture of this. It's my son's marigold. We went to a literacy night at his school. They read "The Empty Pot" and sent them home with a paper cup with seeds in them. This one came up and made me happy to see the first signs of Spring...even if it is only in my kitchen.

We are going to create a garden for each of our children that is big enough to walk and take care of one. They are so excited! We bought them some seeds and they can't wait. It should be a great opportunity for them to get outside, care for something and learn along the way. I love to teach them about the things I love! They get to choose the plants, collect the rocks, weed and water their own garden.

I hope they love it as much as I do!

What a wonderful idea! Have you heard of a storybook garden? Cinderella's pumpkins, Peter's carrots, Jack's beans, etc. Share the stories as you plant the seeds. Adds another dimension of fun for the kiddies. Happy Growing!
